"Live It Up" Album Review

If you're one of my Twitter followers, I apologise in advance for I have spammed your Timeline with my obsessive tweets over @LeeDeWyze and his songs. So here's my comments on his album "Live It Up"


The first song I heard in this album and fell head over heels for is “Beautiful Like You” The lyrics are so catchy, the beats are absolutely amazing and his vocals in this song are so beautiful. It reminded me why I’ve been rooting for him in American Idol since day one.

My next favourite song is “Me & My Jealousy”, the lyrics are great too and the idea of the only company that is left is just yourself and your jealousy is quite haunting. The chorus however didn’t appeal to me that much. It goes off to a higher pitch after a calming beginning and ending. I think the arrangement is somehow messed up but that aside, I really adore this one too.

Third in line is “Only Dreaming” a bonus track in the album. The composed beats of this song gives off soothing vibes and the lyrics are nice. Lee’s voice here couldn’t have been more stunning. Listen to it here.

Next up is “Live It Up” which reminds me a lot of Jason Mraz’s style of singing and that’s probably the only reason why I like it. Listen to it here.

The last one which I totally hate is "Sweet Serendipity” It’s not what Lee’s used to sing and I have no idea what he was thinking when he recorded it. Such a turn off.

American Idol Results Are In

I've been rooting for Lee DeWyze ever since the auditions. And just last night, he was crowned as America's Idol by getting more votes than Crystal Bowersox. Besides, Lee's deep voice reminds me of Chad Kroeger's and I'm a huge fan of both of them now.

I've never watched this show before...but I was hooked on it since the beginning of this season for two reasons; Simon's attitude and Lee DeWyze.

A Fresh Start

Third term is finally over and today is supposedly a holiday, which is good since it gives me extra time to memorize my essay for the Essay Competition organized by SAI (Serve And Inspire group) and Times of Oman that is held at the Indian School, AlGhubra tomorrow morning. My age group’s topic is ‘Life is a challenge; meet it’ and so far, I am 85 % sure of my memory. Some prefer to write whatever hits them while they’re there and others, like me, prefer to cram everything.

On Wednesday, 7th, my team and I visited Apex Stuff to hand in our dummy pages for TheWeek's Cubscribe challenge. It was an eye-opening experience, really. So that's one thing off of my shoulders.

Also, my articles officially come out every other Wednesday on Oman Observer (The Weekend edition)… Deadlines creeps me out but with pushy people around and the hectic school days I go through, I would get used to it sooner or later since I asked for it, right?

I have been asking for random topics to write about in order to get my mind out of this whole thing in May (IGCSEs) so any suggestions from you, readers, would be appreciated. So far, I have written 2 articles for the upcoming weeks. See, the problem with me is that I always plot the points, highlight the main issues to be discussed in a certain topic, but when it comes to actually putting it down in words, my expectations just drops down, although that’s a bonus: you never know unless you try…or so they say.
